Science on Wheels Program

The Science on Wheels program that will be a national model for recruitment and retention of students in STEM.  This program begins with Guilford and Alamance-Burlington school districts. Guilford County is the 3rd largest school district in North Carolina with more than 34,000 students in grades 6-12. The county is home of three prominent universities (UNCG, NC A&T and Guilford College), two women colleges (Bennett College for Women, and Greensboro College), several community colleges and industries.  The Almanace-Burlington County is  the16th largest school district in North Carolina with  more than 12,000 students in grades 6-12. These two School Districts are located in central North Carolina and.  both have large populations of minority students. The program will be expanded into other districts as we gain experience and support.  When fully implemented the Science on Wheels program will impact teachers and students statewide, enriching the science and math curriculum for over 1.2 million students.
