AJP is a publication of the African Scientific Network. 

Our mission

  • Establish the tradition of continent wide scientific publication,
  • Generate collaborations among African scientists world wide
  • Introduce/Publicize the progress in physics  research and education in Africa 
  • Introduce/Feature African Scientists to the world
  • Promote science, Mathematics, Technology education in Africa
Our mission can't be fulfilled without the participation of  African Educators, professionals and students world wide. 

Publication process

The publication of an article involves several steps one of which is peer review. Once we receive your article, it will be sent to three qualified peer reviewers to determine if the standards set by the Journal are met. The standards are not different from those journals published by, for example, the American Physical Society.

  1. Validity: Is the work scientifically sound ?
  2. Importance: Does the manuscript report substantial research ?
  3. Interest: Is the manuscript of broad interest ?
  4. Ethics: We endorse the  Statement of ethics and responsibilities of authors submitting to AIP Journals

Summary of Types of Publications

Proceedings: we will publish online regular education and research related proceedings in science, mathematics, engineering and technology fields. The proceedings may originate from workshops, schools, symposia and conferences. We also published proceedings of such activities sponsored by the African Scientific Network and/or the African Physics Forum

Review articles: We will publish review articles in all physics and related fields

Letter to the editor: Critical reviews on physics education and research, and its uses for society in the form of letter to the editor

Physics and Education research papers by African scientists and their colleagues will be published

Target Audience: Our audience include science teachers, physics faculty and students, and the physics research  communityin Africa and elsewhere.
